Who qualifies for the Clean Power Alliance battery rebate?

You qualify if Clean Power Alliance supplies your electricity and you're adding a battery to solar you already have, or to new solar. Here's the full checklist from Clean Power Alliance's program rules.

The eligibility checklist

  • You're a Clean Power Alliance residential customer and the account holder at the address. Customers who buy power directly from SCE don't qualify.
  • Your battery is paired with solar. Existing solar counts. So does solar installed at the same time.
  • You don't already have a working battery at the home.
  • The battery is on Clean Power Alliance's eligible list and holds at least 5 kWh. A single Tesla Powerwall 3 stores 13.5 kWh.
  • The battery is set to use half its capacity each day. It powers your home through the evening and recharges from your solar.
  • You're on net metering or the Solar Billing Plan before the rebate is paid. Most SCE solar homes already are.
  • A CSLB-licensed contractor installs it. Our installs are under CSLB license 1065773.
  • Renting? You'll need the owner's approval. Condo and townhome owners may need HOA approval.

Are you a Clean Power Alliance customer?

Check your SCE bill. If Clean Power Alliance is your power provider, your bill shows a separate section of Clean Power Alliance generation charges.

SCE still delivers your power, reads your meter and sends the bill. Clean Power Alliance buys the electricity.
